To maintain a focused, real-home training environment, all boarding and training takes place at Alex’s private residence. Dogs are also trained in a variety of real-world settings, including local parks, stores, and public spaces throughout the Greensboro area.
For convenience, complimentary pick-up and drop-off are included with every program. The exact boarding location is provided to confirmed clients at the start of their program to ensure a safe and controlled environment for all dogs.

Please provide enough of your dog’s regular food for the duration of their stay to avoid digestive upset. All training treats, equipment, and tools are provided as part of the program.
-
We typically work with dogs ranging from 16-20 weeks to 5+ years old, although older dogs can absolutely benefit from training as well. For puppies, all required vaccinations must be completed prior to starting the program.
-
Program pricing varies based on your dog’s behavior and training goals. For full details and current pricing, please visit our Programs page.
-
We intentionally limit the number of dogs in our care to ensure each dog receives focused, individualized attention. This allows for a higher standard of training, better supervision, and more consistent results. We only train 3-4 dogs at a time.
Training Philosophy & Tools
-
We believe a dog that wants to work is a dog that will listen in real-world environments. Training begins with food, rewards, and clear communication to build understanding and engagement.
As your dog progresses, structure and accountability are layered in so behaviors remain consistent without relying heavily on rewards.
-
When appropriate, we may introduce low-level communication tools as a way to reinforce known commands, similar to a “tap on the shoulder.” These tools are only used based on your dog’s temperament and your training goals.
If used, you will receive clear, hands-on instruction during your lessons to ensure you are confident and comfortable using them correctly.
-
We focus on reinforcing calm, appropriate behavior while providing clear structure around unwanted behaviors. For example, if a dog alerts at the door, we acknowledge the behavior and then guide the dog into a calm, controlled state.
Our goal is not just to stop behaviors, but to teach the dog what to do instead.
The Training Experience
-
Yes. Crate training is used for safety, structure, and to develop strong house manners. Dogs rest and eat in their crates, which helps promote calm behavior indoors.
However, dogs spend a large portion of the day outside of the crate participating in training sessions, structured play, and real-world outings.
-
Yes. Dogs with reactivity or behavioral challenges can be accepted into our programs. Training is approached in a structured and controlled way, using gradual exposure and clear communication.
Safety is always the priority, and tools such as muzzle conditioning may be used when appropriate.
-
We regularly share photos and videos of training progress on social media. You are also welcome to reach out directly for updates during your dog’s stay.
